ATTENDANCE POLICY

Practices and Tournaments are mandatory and your attendance is expected. If a player will be missing a practice or tournament, that player must contact the head coach before the scheduled event by EMAIL or TEXT.

  1. Academics are a priority, however, homework should not be an excuse for missing practices or tournaments.

  2. All homework should be completed BEFORE practice. Please manage your time so that you are able to attend all practices and tournaments. This may include “working ahead” on weekends and bringing books to tournaments.

  3. If you are having issues managing your time, please contact your coach and we will help you work out an academic plan. Do not let your grades slip during our season!

  4. Players who repeatedly miss practice will be subject to reduced tournament playing time.

  5. Travel Teams must complete all their work assignment before tournament dismissal.

PROGRAM FEES

Full program fee payments are due at the first practice. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. No players will be turned away because of inability to pay. However, every participant is expected to fund raise to help offset the costs incurred in our program. Cash, or checks payable to the “Philadelphia Starlings VBC” are acceptable forms of payment.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

All Philly Starlings participants must fulfill their Broad Street Run community service requirement in early May. 40,000 runners annually register for Broad Street Run, and we will assist with packing post-race food bags and the Callowhill Water Station.

If you do not fulfill this requirement, going forward you become ineligible for any of our future programs. Make up community service opportunities are available upon request.
